![]() ![]() Click Mail Shield's Customize button to display the SSL Scanning window. In other words Avast now forces you to accept HTTPS scanning. This is Avast’s answer to bad criticism of a program feature. force it on the user and then hide the fact that it’s there. On the topmost ‘+’ symbol box next to the topmost ‘smiley-face’ icon. This will open the first in a hierarchy list of Certificates and present another ‘+’ symbol box next to another ‘smiley-face’ icon beneath the first. Until you get to a Certificate that shows a ‘skull & crossbones’ icon instead of a ‘smiley face’. High-light the ‘skull & crossbones’ entry by clicking on it. Then go to the bottom of the window and click the ‘Add To Trusted’ button. Suddenly, Avast is blocking access to POP and IMAP email accounts. Then click the ‘check mail’ icon in the menu bar at the top of the Eudora screen. If youre having this problem, heres the fix: 1. Click on Settings (upper right corner of page) 3. It should now complete the check for new mail as it did before. If not, repeat the procedure outlined above until it does. Similarly, this procedure will also cure Eudora's failure to send mail should it pop up a similar error message. Just click on 'Sending Mail' under 'Tools', 'Options' and look for 'skull & crossbones' Certificates as outlined above. Just adding, Im having the same issues as well, and Ive tested on Outlook 2016, 2007. ![]() I, like so many of you, have become particularly fond of Eudora. I did attempt the Thunderbird with great success. (STARTTLS only) I will say however, for me other accounts on server work fine. Ive found 2 so far out of several others that do not work on Microsoft. The Avast Exchange Plugin were running before I uninstaled Avast Server. But, because it is an obsolete email client, many of the Anti-Virus Software packages out there are not compatible with Eudora. The only two I have found that do work with Eudora are Trend It helped the Avast/Outlook problem when I uninstalled the Avast server, and the problem with companyweb was gone after I removeedd the avast proxy listings from all sites in IIS. (I'm currently running AVG Free.) I first encountered this problem when I installed an issue of Avast AV software and this procedure would not make Eudora work under the Avast application. #OUTLOOK CAUSING AVAST CERTIFICATE ERROR SOFTWARE#. ![]()
